Glastonbury 2008 June 28, 2008 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Just seen Amy perform live at Glastonbury and boy is there something special about this woman. Huuuggggeeeee magnestism and charisma with a touch of the Marilyn Monroe tragedy about her, but what a voice. I'm hooked ;-)
Amazing voice June 19, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Well this cd is almost or entirely perfect. Each and every song in the album is very good, her voice is terrific and overall it was truly a very nice buy.
Lazy May 29, 2008 1 out of 10 found this review helpful
There must be a dirth of singing talent..this is ok but so lazy. Most girls under the age of 14 can reproduce the mouthy noise that appears to be taken for 'singing' and Winehouse does not need to become the Whine-house she is here. The girl's got talent but she uses it with slack skill. Time to go back to school Amy. I'll listen to you when you've grown up and decided to entertain with your singing instead of gargling that whine.
Classic from the best musician alive today April 26, 2008 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
After waiting a long while I finally bought this album. It's incredible. As others have said, the music has a 50's and 60's feel but the lyrics and style are bang up-to-date. Amy's voice is incredible. I can't think of a single musician, singer or band better than her today. The album will be remembered as an all time classic. I also just got her previous album (which Amy recently said she didn't like). The style on the previous album is different but it's still brilliant! My favourite tracks on the Back to Black album are 'You Know I'm No Good' and 'Addicted'.
Okay but.... April 4, 2008 2 out of 15 found this review helpful
The album is okay, but when Amy covered AC/DC's Back in Black she should have kept the main riff! It's one of the most famous guitar riffs in the world and not to include it is bordering on nudity.
