If you are getting into Radiohead then this is a boxset with all their ALBUMS. Alot of people are saying that it dosen't have b-sides or anything new...b-sides and new stuff isn't albums? this is thair complete back catalogue of albums. They have been one of my favourate bands for at least 10 years now "I have got a ticket to see them at Victoria Park in june" but if you have just discovered them and want all their stuff in a nice box to keep them together then this is perfect. EMI are cashing in but don't forget Radiohead will also be profiting with every purchase because they did make the albums at the end of the day!!
Black Swan/ Black Sheep? December 10, 2007 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
It is amazing to finally have a box to put my Radiohead albums in. Excellent buy for anyone who wants the whole collection. I already owned all the albums and still think it is a great purchase. Works out 5 per album. I don't think I'm a sheep for buying this, rather a fan of good music.
Fantastic value- 35 well spent December 10, 2007 21 out of 24 found this review helpful
It's really very simple. If you own all of these CDs already then, unsurprisingly, this boxset won't interest you. However, giving it a 1-star rating for this reason is ludicrous. Why not then go through your entire CD collection, locate them on Amazon and give them 1-star because you own them already!? If, on the other hand, you're new to Radiohead and have only heard their latest effort and want to discover more, this boxset is perfect. 'The Bends', 'OK Computer' and 'Kid A' are three of the finest albums ever created, which show the evolution of Radiohead's sound from the guitar-driven, instantly accessible, melodious pop/rock of 'The Bends' to the minimalist, electronic world of 'Kid A'. A great purchase! (IF YOU DON'T OWN THEM ALL ALREADY :p)
It's not that bad December 9, 2007 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
Yes, it is a blantant cash-in and yes, it is an attempt to get some money since the record lable won't get any from In Rainbows.
However, if you've just getting into Radiohead or have never actually thought to buy their albums, it's the cheapest way to get their back catalogue.
I know a lot of people will be against it, and I would rather have the albums on their own, but you can't fault it for anything other than being a cash-in, but it certainly doesn't deserve below 4 stars as it is. As a set, it's cheap, and it's some of the best music ever crafted. How can you fault it?
