This is a great return to what I think Chaka does best. It demonstrates the full range of her vocal abilities. The songs are all listenable. I guess I would question the merits of re-recording classic hits as I'm not sure where the added value is. I think the duet with Michael McDonald is great and it's obvious from stuff like Back In The Day and Disrespectful why she is revered the world over by public and peers for her contribution to RnB. My favourite Chaka album since CK was released in the late 80's! Check it out.

From start to finish this CD is sheer perfection. Back to REAL music on so many levels. One For All Time is so CHAKA/RUFUS 1977. Angel is a heartfelt ballad that invokes so many emotions. My favorite though is SIGN O' TIMES which she turns into a new anthem(sampling I'm Every Woman and adding new lyrics). On Will You Love Me we get the famous WALL OF CHAKA backing vocals. Back In The Day & Hail To The Wrong - funk at it's best. Castles Made Of Sand is to short - it gets good just when she goes off! Ladies Man - she works it. Even Foolish Fool works(although i was skeptical). Chaka's best CD in quite some time!

I worked out I have been a Chaka Khan fan for 33 years !!!. I so wanted this to be good - and I was not disappointed.
This is a return back to the Rufus days. Great opener, track 2 is the best on the album, the pace slows down on track 3 leading to Angel which is a big ballad. Back to the funk up to the fantastic duet with Mary J Blige - two powerhouses together - fabulous.
Shame the album wasn't 10 tracks as there are 3 duds - the cover of Sign O' The Times is terrible (there are dozens of other Prince tracks that would have been better to use if one had to be included ) the karaoke version of You Belong To Me is poor (again , plenty of other Michael McDonald tracks that would have been better), and the inclusion of Packed My Bags / Tell Me Something Good seems very odd - both are studio versions as performed on the Live Stompin At The Savoy Album. But, set the CD player to skip these three are the rest is just fantastic.
Nt only did I want to play it over and over but it sent be back to all those great old albums as well - a re-master series waiting to happen if ever there was. Enjoy
